Facing Change

The change I am currently facing is being unemployed. I have always worked from the time I was 16 years old. Last year I was laid off from my job and I have not been able to find work. I have gone on numerous interviews, attended job fairs, and professional workshops, yet I remain unemployed. I also returned to school to imporve my skill set and hope that it will help me be able to find work in a different field. However I am finding that many employers want to have someone with experience in their field. I am really stressed because of my employment status.

At this point I feel I am in the stage of despair.

  1. I fully understand, been there too. Despair can be debilitating though to your pursuits. Try and not to get discouraged. It's not your fault; life just isn't fair. Just remember that you are experiencing this because you just needed it to grow.

Everything will work out in the end, if it hasn't worked out, it's not the end.

  3. Keisha, I understand and have a great deal of empathy for you regarding your unemployment situation. According to the partnering with change model, there are tools that may be of some encouragement for you.Trust relieves Despair: trust or faith that things have to improve lifts us out of the pit(Bruno 2009.)Keisha, with trust or faith I have high hopes for you that this situation will soon turn around and you become employed in the field that you are skilled in.

According to theologian Rheinhold Niebur, serenity is yours when you let go of "things you cant change"(Bruno2009)and from reading your blog the change would be within the unemployment rates and that employers are not hiring at all right now. Keisha, I commend you on going back to school.I suggest you continue and don't give up on school it may not seem like things will ever change, however education will always be beneficial.
